  • Study: Cheltenham College of Art and Design (One Year Foundation Course) Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (Three Year Acting Course (B.A.)
  • Appeared at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre and the London West End (Lyric Theatre) Performed for both BBC Television, Harlech Television and BBC Radio.
  • Co-founder of the British avant garde theatre group ‘The Crystal Theatre of the Saint” based in Bristol. We were invited by Dutch theatre director Ron Boonstra, to tour the Netherlands.
  • The company was invited by the Rotterdam Arts Council to live and work in The Netherlands. “ Rooms” was premiered at De Lantaren Theatre Rotterdam. Thereafter numerous theatre projects were created for the city.
  • A BBC documentary ‘The Crystal Theatre of the Saint’ was made celebrating this unique collaboration between Rotterdam and Bristol with the British premiere of “Rooms” at the Arnolfini, Bristol, providing the underlying link throughout the documentary. “Rooms” went on to premiere in London at the I.C.A.
  • Performance-artist with the Dutch Theatre Company ‘Dogtroep’ performing throughout Europe and Northern Africa.
  • I was invited to work with the Japanese artist Shusaku Takeuchi in ‘Shusaku Dormu Dance Theatre’ as an actor, mime, dancer eventually becoming co-director of the company, touring extensively throughout the world, performing, teaching and directing.
  • Together with Sabri El Hamus and director Armand Perrenet I formed theatre company ‘La Maqul’ subsidised by the “Fonds voor de Podium Kunst” Netherlands. Creating six original theatre pieces: “Voyage To Tomorrow” “Victims of Sound” “Solo Col Sol” “The Shah of Blah” “Blood Bond” and “The UnDutchables” Touring, teaching and directing in Egypt.
  • In 1989 for my role in “Voyage To Tomorrow” I won the award for Best Actor in the International Theatre Festival of Cairo.
  • I have collaborated with Peter Stein, Dario Fo, Peter Greenaway and Saskia Boddeke.
  • I had the leading role of Adam in Greenaway’s multi-media theatre spectacle ‘100 Objects To Represent The World’ premiering in the Salzburg Festival and continuing to tour the world for three years.
  • In 2000 Peter Greenaway’s film of ‘100 Objects To Represent The World’ was made in Mexico City in the Theatre Des Beaux Arts.
  • Together with Margot Nies formed Theatre Company ‘ipso facto’ collaborating on five original productions: ‘Rose R. A Brief Awakening’ based on the book ‘Awakenings’ by Oliver Sacks. Touring throughout the Netherlands and also to Hong Kong. ‘The Game Room’ based on the book ‘Les Enfants Terribles’ by Jean Cocteau, ‘Dear Cannibal’ a modern interpretation of Beauty and the Beast and 20th century cannibals, ‘decoding dickinson’ based on the life and work of the 19th century American poet, Emily Dickinson. My original compostion “I Died for Beauty” based on the Dickinson poem, was recorded by the Canadian soprano Barbara Hannigan especially for this performance.
  • With Margot Nies we created and I directed ‘Driftland’ a muli-media location project for the Oerol Theatre Festival, Terschelling collaborating with 2nd /3rd year students from the Mime school Amsterdam.
  • Collaborated as assistant director and actor/mime with the Baroque Opera-Company “i piccoli olandesi” together with Marc Pantus, Barbara Hannigan and Margot Nies.
  • Collaborated with the baroque musical ensemble Northern Consort for the Mozart celebrations 2006 and as part of a childrens music-theatre project, based on the stories of Dutch author Toon Tellegen 2007 who also collaborated as narrator.
  • I was invited to perform as Singer/Narrator in Luigi Nono’s “A Floresta e´Jovem e Cheja De Vida” under the direction of Maurizio Pollini premiering at the Venice Biennale and touring throughout Europe (Queen Elizabeth Hall London, Santa Cecilia,Rome, amongst others) culminating in 2009 at ‘La Scala’ in Milan
  • In 2009 together with Margot Nies I created and opened “Whitton House” a cultural centre in Drenthe, Northern Holland, organising classical concerts, exhibitions, master classes (Dame Emma Kirkby) and creating directing and performing original theatre pieces.
  • Created “Ceremony of Carols” based on Brittens choral music of the same name in collaboration with Margot Nies and the choir “Sweet Kate” under the musical direction Harry Camstra (conductor)
  • Created and performed “The Way of Time” together with Margot Nies and composer/pianist Marion Von Tilzer.
  • Directed, created and performed “The Mad Hatters Tea Party” a location/theatre production based on “Alice in Wonderland” with Margot Nies, Rien van der Scheer, Annet Posthuma, Maria Berkhout and Arne Van der Scheer.
  • Director “In Her Shoes” A solo dance performance by Margot Nies loosely based on the H.C. Anderson’s “Red Shoes”
  • 2018 Structural advisor/creator “Een Nacht in St Jans Kerk” initiated by Theater Compagnie Barrevoet, Terschelling as part of Leeuwarden Culturele Hoofdstad 2018.
  • For the past fifteen years I have also worked as a role-player/assessor, communications-trainer, role-play writer and theatre-coach in the corporate sector and more recently at Windesheim University in Zwolle. I also work as a writer, translator, composer, singing teacher and as a free-lance illustrator.
