Although I studied fine art at Cheltenham College of Art and Design and have painted numerous canvases throughout my life I would never refer to myself as a painter. Painting has always been an interest on the periphery of my more graphic work and has basically eluded me as a form. Until I pick up the paintbrush and focus on it again which I certainly hope to do this year, it will remain as just that, a hope.
The drawing and large aquarelle above are both of my grandfather who was ill at the time. This was one of my first endeavours in paint. I was 15 and he died shortly afterwards, which made both works especially poignant.
